A ceremony of dedication to a famous monument was held 124 years ago on October 28th. This monument is none other than the Statue of Liberty. It was made in France as a gift to the people of the United States. The French artist Frederic Bartholdi designed the statue after

President Grover Cleveland presided over the Dedication Ceremony. The statute was installed near Ellis Island, which has ever been in its shadow.
